This place could be really hit and miss depending on the room type selected. We chose a water front executive room with tub. The room was comfortable and spacious but was starting to show its age. Looked alot nicer than some other rooms available so would recommend researching the room types before staying.

Pros: clean comfortable, awesome staff, perfect location. Kitchenette allowed us to bring and prepare our own meals, which was good because:

We stayed at a lovely little cottage room right near banjos bakery and central to the action on the esplanade. There were a few problems with the room the air con just blew hot air we asked several times to have it seem to but unfortunately everyone we spoke to about it couldn't understand us. We are Australian and the staff were not I suggest that you have someone who can can speak English or at least understand English. Very surprising considering that there are more than enough unemployed English speaking locals who could do with a job. Hot uncomfortable 3 nights in this beautiful accommodation.

Staff here are fantastic, our TV wasn't working and within minutes of us letting them know a maintenance man was knocking on the door. It couldn't be fixed so we were given another room. It's a lovely little village with a great view from the balcony and most attractions within walking distance. Would definitely recommend a stay here.

We staped in a hilltop room in the village. These are older basic rooms priced accordingly. The hilltop rooms can be accessed easily by car but on foot it's a steep climb up an old wooden boardwalk and steps. Basic facilities in room, bed was hard and uncomfortable and very soft pillows. Room could be a lot cleaner. Buffet breakfast was OK for price, $20 continental or $27 for hot dishes as well. Very close to day cruise departure point.

Cons: restaurant was very expensive, but we also ate at three other locations and they were all very pricey. Bring your own food if you can.

I stayed here with my mother and two kids (aged 3 and 5) in September 2017. The Village consists of various little cottages around the bay plus adjoining rooms in a more hotel style. We had a little cottage, right on the waterfront. It rained the whole weekend (that's Strahan for you!) but it didn't stop us having a great time.
