  We arrived at Strahan in miserable weather after a long 5hour drive. Our 2N stay at Castaway allayed our dampened spirits of the bad weather affecting our plans there. The apartment was very clean and had all the essentials (and more) for self-catering. There was good water pressure for hot showers which we welcomed, hailing from tropical Singapore. A heater in the living room and electric blankets kept us warm from the cold. The surrounding area was very peaceful and quiet and we could get the rest we needed. The owners have done a wonderful job with the upkeep of the apartments and we recommend staying there if ever you are in Strahan.

  Really friendly staff, very helpful and accomodating. The apartment was pristine, clean and spacious. Wish we could stay longer.

  A lovely retreat close enough to all major attractions in town. Bathroom shower head leaking profusely but have seen this repeatedly at several places in Tasmania. Walls were thin and could hear neighbours bumping around. The service by the staff more than made up for these minor issues though, very informative and attentive to needs. Wanted to make sure you got the best out of your visit to Strahan.

  What a gem of a place in Strahan! The apartment we had was large, spacious and had everything we needed. It was modern, tastefully furnished (although basic) and comfortable. The bathroom was clean and modern, and having the accessible bathroom was good for a family with a young child. Although our apartment was the closest to the road, it was quiet enough, with only a few cars passing noisily. We recommend cooking your own meals in the well supplied kitchen as there isn't much in town to eat if you don't book well in advance. The owners are very friendly and helpful. A great place to base yourself for exploring Strahan and surrounds.

  We also took advantage of the 10% discount off tickets for the World Heritage Cruises (which you can get if you stay at Castaways and write them directly to indicate your interest). Upon our checkout, our host was kind to suggest places we could stop for a visit. We took his advice and spent time at Nelson Falls and The Wall along the drive back to Hobart. We genuinely appreciated this.
